Violence and Harassment in Buffalo NY
I just contacted the mayor of Buffalo and sent him a letter explaining the problem their having with bystanders being complacent. No one will speak up to the police so this bad behavior keeps getting worse.
Our program is the only proactive community program and we hope to have the opportunity to implement it in Buffalo. I'll get back to you if I receive a response.
I would like to hear your thoughts on what needs to be done to stop the violence in Buffalo.

High School Bullying
Our team travels all across the USA and Canada speaking to students on bullying. When it comes to high schools it's unbelievable how they feel about bullying. I get "it's not a problem in HS”,
I'm the English teacher if you have a bullying problem go see the councilor.
High school teachers I find are set up into their departments so when it comes to bullying no one wants to take responsibility.
This is not a slam against teachers it's just a fact that I see from high school to high school.
Now when it comes to reducing bullying in middle or elementary schools the entire community gets on board.
I cannot say this enough times, bullying happens everywhere and it doesn’t stop in high school. Do you know how many times I hear about workplace bullying?
Ladies and gentlemen until we make that paradigm shift in understanding bullying is a community problem we'll never stop this epidemic.

E Investigates Bullying
I was recently on E Investigates bullying as an expert on bullying. The producer Michael Lynn did a great job when it came to producing a show, but they missed the entire message and bullying problem. Their focus was on the victims in school bullying who committed suicide. What a disappointment. They focused on 5% of the problem and the show was completely reactive.
What they missed was bullying is a community problem and we need to understand that we all have a role to play. If we continually focus on the bullies and victims (targets) we'll continually have a problem with bullying in schools, workplaces, sports teams etc.
I plan on calling E investigates to talk to them about how they made the problem worse by using the angle of victim and schools.
Stay tuned and I'll tell you what their reaction is to my opinion.

Strategic Planning- teacher training in school bullying
I hear over and over again from parents, that teachers don't do anything about bullying.
When it comes to reducing bullying in a school district, we need to remember that any plan starts with the school board. To make that happen the school board needs to pass the program onto the superintendents and they in return pass the program down to the schools. If the teachers have no training on bullying and on how to be objective when it comes to bullying, how can we blame the teachers?
I just received a call from a school board who wants our program in Illinois. They want us to do an assembly on how to stop bullying. My question back was...are your teachers trained on what to do when it comes to bullying? She replied that they have a program on character education. So the answer is, the teachers don't know what to do.
Anyone from a school board who is reading this please note: you can't stop bullying unless the people above know what to do. You don't stop bullying from the bottom up it, starts from the top down.
Check out the best school I’ve ever seen when it comes to reducing bullying and that is Haines Middle school in Pennsylvania.
If your school board is looking for a proactive approach to this epidemic please give us a call at 1 866 333 4553 we'll send you all the information about our school and community proactive program.

School Programs for schools
Schools need to be proactive in reducing bullying in their schools. One big problem school have is hiring speakers who are victims of bullying. Bullying is a symptom of bad behavior and victim stories only focus on 5% of the audience and only 5% of the behavior inside of schools.
At reportbullying.com we focus on the bystander’s behavior in bullying situations. With our full follow behavior program we can now develop better behavior by focusing on all the students’ behavior because everyone is a bystander.
Once bystanders speak up we can help these students who have learned this aggressive behavior.
Please come back again so I can talk about the difference between a victim and a target.

parents what is your role
We continually look through the same window and see a school environment and we believe that schools are responsible for stopping bullying. Bullying is a community problem not a school problem. We as parents need to understand that our bad behavior creates bullying behaviors that our children bring to school and in our communities.
Please keep popping back and I'll give some behavior ideas that will help parents motivate their children and behaviors that may demoralize.
